Creating Lively Paintings From Photographs

Instructor: John H. Burrow
(This is an indoor course using acrylics or oil paints/your choice)

2 day workshop,   9am - 1pm,  Price:  $160.

We will introduce a clear thought processes for you to apply while working from photo reference. Exploring key concepts for extracting visual value from your photos, so that you can build on them to create strong, believable  paintings.

Several exercises are designed to break you out of the “copying the photo idea”, providing you compelling solutions to add to your creative thought process. In addition you will achieve greater clarity on what photos have great potential and which are better left unpainted – and why. We will evaluate items in your photo that are important to keep in your painting, and what to leave out. This is a challenging workshop that will uplift the confidence you have as a painter.
